Internet traffic terminating in Tanzania will now be conveyed through Liquid Telecom’s fibre network. This is after Tanzania Telecom entered into a partnership with Liquid Telecom Group making Liquid the first wholesale carrier that covers East African capitals on a single fibre link. This include Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and Kigali.
Liquid’s fibre link has been extended from Nairobi to Namanga with a capacity of multiple STM 64s. The internet provider currently has a project underway to connect Somalia to the Liquid fibre and is currently operational across Central, Eastern and Southern Africa. Liquid’s fibre network spans 15,000 Km from north Uganda to Cape Town.
