Arctic Blue Galaxy S4 On The Way

0

The Galaxy S4 is just settling in the hands of a majority of consumers who have waited anxiously since the March 14th announcement to have the device in their hands. While so far the device has been available in only two colours and Samsung did promise some more colour options later, it seems this will be faster than we thought. The Arctic Blue Galaxy S4 has already leaked.

Thanks to a leaked internal document (a brochure for that matter as seen in the photo below) of Japan’s largest cellphone carriers, NTT DoCoMo, listing availability of the S4 in various colours, we now know that there exists a blue variant of the Galaxy S4 over in the east.

Remember the Galaxy S III and its marble white and pebble blue colour options? The S4 has been available in only two colours too: Black Mist and White Frost. I remember the way the garnet red version of the S III was the wow variant of last year’s Samsung flagship and was exclusive to our American brothers on AT & T when it first became available. Will that be the case with the Arctic Blue S4? We really can’t tell since the device version S4 SC-04E is slated for release in Japan but you can be sure as was the case with the S III previously (I am sure you have spotted the garnet red S III somewhere in the streets since the black S III has been a rare one. The purple S III was only available Stateside for Sprint customers), this could find its way to the international market and hopefully Kenya.

It is very much like Samsung to have multi-colours and other patterned/decorated flavours for its flagship devices like the S III and the Note II (remember the Pink Note II? What of the Amber Brown and Ruby Wine Note II?) so we won’t be surprised if more colour options pop up in the near future.

While the S4 SC-04E will have specs similar to the international version Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) and the variants selling in other markets like the European and North American markets (generally the GT-I9505 but with varying model numbers as a result of carrier differentiation), it will have some other twisted specs too.

The Arctic Blue S4 will pack a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz as expected since Japan is an LTE market and particularly the target carrier, NTT DoCoMo. All other specs are similar to other S4 variants save for the front facing camera which will have 2.1 megapixels unlike 2.0 megapixels for the other variants. However marginal, that is significant. The weight of the device also changes negligibly to 132g compared to 130g for the other variants. It will also be available only with 32 GB internal storage unlike the other variants which have a choice between 16, 32 and 64 gigs.
