Nokia customers in East Africa will enjoy 12 month extended warranty. Well, not the whole of East Africa but Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Users’ warranty will be covered whether you purchase your phone from within or without your country borders in the three countries. This means after-sales, in-warranty repairs and software support will be offered regardless of country you are in. An advantage for the cross border travellers who would find themselves on the wrong side of the border should some problem occur with their handsets.
Well, its not clear whether this covers existing warranties or just new purchases from today. Will conform this as soon as I get the info.
[Update] The East Africa warranty covers all sales packs shipped in starting on or after 1st January 2012. Warranty period is 12 months.
