Sote Hub will be staging the 4th Annual Sote ICT Innovation Fair on July 14, 2018 in CIT Hall, Voi, Kenya.
The program was conceptualized and actualized to create a platform where ICT-based talents can be showcased. The fair rounds up students, teachers, businesses and organizations that look forward to supporting innovation in education and can partner with the organizers in their journey that purposes to benefit the youth.
Sote Hub created Sote ICT Project, which aims to pass company experience to students in the rural parts of the country, in addition to enriching their creativity, critical thinking and practical life skill for future careers through ICT clubs.
The project went live in 2010 and has been involved in pushing its agenda in 12 schools in Taita Taveta. At the moment, it has impacted more than 6000 students. Furthermore, the project has reached an additional 5000 students in high schools and technical training institutions in Kwale County.
The hub has stations in Voi, Diani and Kwale that also serve as a working space for upcoming innovators and startups that primarily design market solutions for Kenya-based challenges.
According to Sote, its primary objective is ‘to provide the opportunity for students to develop their innovative mentality as well as global competencies, as Sote Hub recognizes the importance of developing highly skilled and resilient high school graduates that are capable of adapting to the evolving digital and global economy.’
