Nokia and Samsung are again on the fore-front of camera imaging with high power camera phones (or phone-cameras or cameraphonecamera, whatever blows your skirt 🙂 ). Nokia was the first to unveil the 41 MP Nokia Pureview with a huge focus on camera imaging. Samsung recently responded by unveiling the Galaxy S 4 Zoom that looks and feels like the centre-point between the camera and the phone, complete with a physically zoom-able lens that pops out.
The Nokia Pureview camera-phone on Windows has leaked severally, including live photos presented by ViziLeaks. But it has widely been expected that Nokia is bringing high camera-power previously exhibited on Symbian Powered Nokia Pureview to the Windows Phone. The phone code-named Nokia EOS is the subject of the discussion and could be the device being unveiled on July 11th in New York from an event invite sent to The Verge.
The invite with a prominent text “ZOOM REINVENTED” talks of a July event in New York that will have us seeing more from Nokia. Even the chief Stephen Elop was quoted as saying there is another great product coming within the second quarter. Well July 11th is still within that bracket and we are waiting to see what they got.
