TECNO F SeriesTECNO has pulled a surprise move by announcing a new smartphone lineup, adding to its budget portfolio. So far, TECNO’s budget offerings include newcomers such as K-Series and Spark series that all aim to serve different needs of budget-conscious customers. The new lineup, F-Series, come with a focus on speed and bringing the Full-Display experience to budget smartphones.

The F1 and F2 have a 5-inch display while the F3 (also known as POP 1) adorns a 5.5-inch display in the new 18:9 aspect ratio. Aside from the modern look, TECNO says that the phones come with impressive processing power and commendable cameras. Speaking of cameras, the F1 and F2 feature 2MP selfie shooters while the F3 features a 5MP selfie shooter and they all feature a 5MP main camera with Dual Flash.

The biggest news, however, was that the F-Series would bring the lightweight, data saving, Android Go Edition into the TECNO family. All three phones will come with Android Oreo (Go edition) out of the box bringing optimized apps such as Google Go, YouTube Go and Google Assistant for Android (Go edition). Due to this, we expect all the devices to feature a low-powered processor and possibly nothing more than 1GB RAM.

“As the mobile industry continues to evolve and consumers continue to ask for more, we are certain with our expertise and resourceful partnerships with the likes of Google, we will be able to effectively cater for the needs of mobile phone consumers in emerging markets,” said Arif Chowdhury, Group Vice President, TRANSSION.

The F-Series will go on sale as early as from next week. TECNO is yet to announce the pricing but we expect them to retail at around Kes.10,000.
