TECNO Mobile, one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in Africa by sales volume and the leading smartphone vendor in Kenya has started teasing their next smartphone in the Camon series. Traditionally, the Camon series has been the company’s camera-centric phone.
Back in January, TECNO released the Camon CM, the company’s first device with an 18:9 display and it was meant to act as a sample of what to expect from the Hong Kong-based company. Coming up next from the company is the TECNO Camon X, the rightful successor to last year’s Camon CX. According to a leak, the TECNO Camon X is said to focus on photography, offering “unique and previously unheard-of camera features”.
Apparently, the device will feature a 60MP super pixel zoom rear camera and a powerful dual-lens selfie camera. There’s no hint as to what these unheard-of camera features are, but there are mulls that the phone will feature a liquid cooling mechanism to keep the phone running smooth and cool as well as facial recognition. Other notable features to expect include, an 18:9 6-inch Full HD display, 6 or 8 gigz of RAM, up to 128GB of internal memory and Android Oreo out of the box.
We also have information that the device will come in two variants, Camon X and Camon X Pro. We are not certain on what the differences will be between these two but we know the Pro variant will have the top-notch specs including more RAM and higher storage capacity, of course, this difference will also be reflected in the price.
The device is said to launch sometime in April and the international launch event will be held in Lagos, Nigeria.
