For years, Virtual Reality was a concept that only existed in the world of fantasy and science fiction. Over the past few years however, technology has finally caught up and has begun to make that fantasy a reality.  There are several companies that have released VR headsets, some connected to the PC while others are compatible with your smartphone.

The possibilities for what can be accomplished with these VR devices are astounding. There have already been applications developed that can help doctors perform in the ER, athletes train and prepare in a way that was not possible before and drivers education programs to help young drivers prepare for the reality of the highway.

One of the fasting growing industries that is sure to be affected by VR is the world of online gaming. Online gaming has rapidly evolved over the past few years to keep up with the ever-changing tech. But nothing that we’ve seen can match the potential that VR brings to the world of online gaming.

One of the biggest advantage of virtual reality is how the game can literally put you in the player’s shoes. By putting on the headset, and blocking out everything around, the game can show you a perspective, that as gamer, you’ve never seen before.

For example, online casino’s have never been more popular than they are today, but the one complaint that many players have is they are losing out on the feeling of being at the casino. A VR online casino will fix that, as a player you can walk up to the live casino dealer games like live roulette and play with other players from different places around the world.

As far as the perspective that the player has, it completely changed. First person shooter games are another great example. While the graphics on consoles such as XBOX and Playstation are top of the line, and can even appear to be realistic, at the end of the day you’re watching the action unfold on a flat screen TV. With VR, you’ll feel like you’re in the shooters shoes. Looking around corners and going after the bad guys, while avoiding a spray of bullets.

The VR technology is still in its infancy and the possibilities for what might be are endless. But based on what we’ve seen so far – we’re really excited to see how the gaming world will adapt over the next couple of years.
