Telegram Messenger is one chatting app that has become my favourite due to several features and since its inception in 2013, it has able to win me over its biggest competitor, WhatsApp.
As you know, you can get Telegram on various platforms, from desktop right to the various mobile platforms and also on the web. Now today, Telegram has updated its desktop app with a rather major update (ver. 1.1) where they’ve added several features.
In this new update, chat administrators can delete messages by other members. This can be a critical tool for admins so that they can moderate content being posted in their groups. All you have to do is right click on the message you want to delete and it will show you a warning where you can choose to delete it for everyone.
Another new feature is that you can now make Telegram Calls on desktop. Telegram released this feature towards the end of March which they said was powered with AI and are encrypted end to end.
Telegram has also made a change to the Emoji, Stickers and Saved GIFs section. When you run Telegram desktop in a wide enough window, your emojis, stickers and GIFS will have their own space on the far right.
The other feature is related to supergroups ( you can have groups with upto 5000 members on Telegram) where now you will be able to manage blocked users list in these huge groups.
This feature has already been rolled out so if you don’t have it, just head over to Settings > General > Check for updates to get it.
