Wileyfox to Unveil New Smartphones on June 28th

New smartphones to succeed the Storm and the Swift which went to market late last year

British smartphone brand Wileyfox is set to announce a new set of smartphones in a week’s time at an event in London. The company has been sending invites to the tech press.

The devices, which so far Wileyfox has done a nice way of keeping away from the rumour mill and the usual leaks engine, are set to replace last year’s duo, the Wileyfox Storm and the Wileyfox Swift, the two devices it entered the global smartphone market with running a forked version of Android from US startup Cyanogen Inc.

Just like the Storm and the Swift, Wileyfox’s new smartphones are likely to cater for the budget market which it is keen on capturing as evidenced by its pilot in Kenya and a handful of other emerging smartphone markets outside its European turf. While details are still scanty, the upcoming Wileyfox smartphones will definitely arrive with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow which the company has been struggling to make available to its current device portfolio with the Swift only getting it a month ago and the Storm still on the waiting list.
