Snapchat-LogoTexas Tech University has embarked on an interesting campaign in a bid to reach out to its prospective students.  Through its snapchat account, the University is reaching out to admitted students by inviting them to send a selfie via snapchat to Texas Tech. The University sent a flier to students who were accepted to the university urging them to add their username  and send it to texastechuniv on Snapchat. The University then adds a Tech graphic and sends it back to the user  and reposted it on the Tech story.

The University said its goal was to engage admitted students in a fun and Interactive way as social media provides a better forum for such interaction than emails or letters. Using snapchat, the admitted students will have a chance to interact with potential classmates, find roommates as well as learn about students from their graduating class. In the past, the university sent paper mustaches through mail for students to take a photo with and share online with #IAmARedRaider . The University said the feedback has been positive so far,  with future students taking screen shots of their Snapchats and interacting with the Universities social media accounts.
