Itβs been rumoured for a while now that Nokia will be releasing a tablet and a phablet any time now in order to compete effectively with other OEMs in the high end market segment. We have not seen much of the tablet but lately there is nothing stopping Nokiaβs rumoured phablet, the 6 inch Nokia Lumia 1520 codenamed Bandit. After leaking a few days ago, it posed for some shorts with the newly announced Sony Xperia Z1.
The Lumia 1520 is Nokiaβs answer to what has so far been a preserve of Android devices with more and more of those devices shipping with 5β+ displays while the likes of Windows Phone and iOS devices just stare. It seems that Windows Phone wonβt be staring for any little longer since Nokia is around to save face.
Rumoured specs of the Nokia Bandit are:
- 6 inch full HD display
- 2 GB RAM
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC
- 32 GB internal storage expandable via microSD
The device will also reportedly ship with the GDR3 update that Windows phone fans the world over have been waiting for on their respective devices. There are no signs of a stylus according to the leaked photos. Neither is there any speculation if it will offer Xperia Z Ultra-like any-stylus functionality.
Coming right after the Lumia 1020, many are curious as to what sensor the shooter on the Lumia 1520 will pack. With Nokiaβs proprietary Pureview technology, we have come to expect the best in picture quality. All fingers point to that being achieved with a modest camera and not the humongous 41 megapixel one we find on the Lumia 1020.
