ekitabuSamsung has announced an exclusive deal with e-kitabu in East Africa. E-Kitabu, a service that hosts over 250,000 e-books for download and payable via Mpesa. E-Kitabu is already available to users in Kenya on an Android app which offers a e-reader that serves as the downloads repository and the offline reader. With the reader you can manipulate the reading experience by changing font sizes, searching and bookmarking.

This service is available for Android devices downloadable on the Samsung Store. E-books range from Kenyan Best sellers, African Books, Popular books globally and also educational material. E-Kitabu is available for use on any Samsung Android device, both tablets and smartphones.

The app which will be exclusive to Samsung devices and downloadable from Samsung Apps Store will make learning content available for the East Africa students. E-kitabu is an e-book store where users can get to download free and paid books and read on the phone. This deal aims at providing support to content distribution by content providers on mobile, a place seen as lacking in content for the mobile phone user in East Africa. This also syncs with the Africa Forum’s theme “Built for Africa”.
