Tecno launched the Tecno N3 in Kenya late last year, a very impressive device. Thanks to Qualcomm’s Quality Reference Design, Tecno was able to come up with a device that was quite high up the industry standards at a sub $100 price point. Tecno N3 Dual-SIM has one SIM card on 3G and the other on 2G. And it performs quite well on battery, touch, display and OS features. It runs on Android 2.3. Now Safaricom will be selling a single SIM Tecno N3 from this month. There wont be change of specifications, except the lack of the extra SIM on 2G. Price for the single SIM Tecno N3 will be Kshs 6,000, and this should be one deal to upset the market.
So basically the device will have :
- Android 2.3
- 3.5″ capacitive touch screen
- 3mp rear camera and 0.3 front
- 320 x 480 pixels (HVGA)
- 3G HSDPA+ upto 7.2Mbps
- 115 x 62 x 11.7mm
- 800MHz processor, Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A
- 512mb RAM
- 8GB memory card out of the box
- Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, USB and 3.5mm jack
- G-Sensor
- 1400mAH Li-Ion Battery
Is it internet enabled?
It’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and has 3G capabilities of upto 7.2Mbps, so yes.
What is the price of the dual SIM Tecno N3 in Kenya?

I have used the dual-SIM Tecno N3 and it does have a rear camera, the difference here is the SIM numbers only. And yes I confirm it does have one.
[…] quite natural to expect Safaricom to insist on a single SIM variant of the device they sell. They have done that previously with Tecno and Alcatel, brands that mainly sell dual-SIM phones in the […]
