Samsung ChatOn is a Samsung built messenger that rivals iMessenger, BBM and Whatsapp. It was developed last year and has since been ported to Android, Bada and iOs platforms, with plans to make it accesible on desktop. There is also the Samsung Ch@t222, a feature phone that comes preinstalled with the messenger application. A recent update ChatON v1.6.1 has added support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, support for 27 more languages and also support for resuming file download. Also added were new emoticons and minor bug fix.
ChatON is still free on the Android Market and there are no mentons of making it paid like its counterpart whatsapp.
