Sony Ericsson users might get the blessings before others after all. The 2011 line-up of smartphones from Sony (Ericsson) are on their way to get Android Ice cream Sandwich on January. These are Xperia active, Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia Play, Xperia pro, Xperia ray and Live with Walkman.

This news came in form of a tweet from a Sony employee Siddharth Sai G. And just like a confirmation of the act, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo  Ice cream Sandwich firmware has been submitted to the PTCRB for certification. Sony Ericsson was seen as a slow company in upgrading firmware but seeks to reverse that by being first to release firmware of Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich. Ice cream sandwich UI has been said by reviewers to be very sleek and fluid beating the HTC sensation sense and Samsung touchwiz 2.0, and where it comes in and fits perfectly with the device without bugs, it promises an ice cream feel.
