Samsung Galaxy NexusThe much hyped Samsung Unpacked 2011 event on the 11th of October in San Diego wont be after-all. This comes due to the postponement by Samsung and CTIA, the event organizers of the event, but not much details have been passed about the future date. Pocket Lint reports that they have got communication in a combined statement from Samsung and google postponing the event that was known to be the launch of the much awaited Samsung Google device Google Nexus S. This was to be the first device running on android ice cream. Here is the statement:

Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

Maybe the passing of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs has had something to do with the postponement, or not.

[UPDATE!] Its been postponed to October 27th, venue changed from San Diego to London.

  1. You could say Jobs had alot to do with the postponement. The guy is haunting Samsung even in death, lol.

    • Maybe the leaks too triggered that. How about, say they postpone it for 2 months and upgrade the specs and come up with a huge specs phone. The leaked specs were good but not all that. *two cents*

  2. Yes, Google confirms that the reason of the postponement is due to Steve Jobs passing away and not due to either unpreparedness of android ice cream or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs leaks(which are true anyway)
