The Nokia create for millions contest was started to get more developers into the series 40 OS driven Nokia phones. Series 40 apps have grown rapidly on ovi store, while the UI and physical appearance of the series 40 phones has been improved in the previous months. Affordability of this category has also contributed to the high uptake. No formal communication has been advised as to why the deadline has been extended, but if you are a developer you now have more time to finetune your app before submitting.
